UK / INDEPENDENT BUDGET NOTES

Composite veneers.
Understand the bill before the headline.

A material name is not a complete quote. Separate the tooth price, appointment charges and unanswered questions before comparing totals.

This resource is for information and budgeting only. We do not diagnose, assess suitability, provide treatment, book appointments or operate a clinic network. No clinical review or treatment outcome is claimed.

THE EVIDENCE / CHECKED 6 NOVEMBER 2026

Price examples with the small print attached.

The observed examples below span £187.50 to a £500 starting figure per tooth, but this is not a national price range or an upper limit. A package-equivalent price and an individual starting fee are different units. These independent providers are not our partners; confirm current written terms directly.

PRO DENTAL CLINIC / LONDON

Package-linked pricing

£187.50 per tooth in its 8-tooth package

The detailed offer is £1,500 for eight teeth, minimum eight; sixteen are advertised at £2,999. The same page separately advertises Signature Nano at £299 per tooth, reduced from £500, as a limited-time offer.

Its consultation requires a £50 non-refundable deposit, redeemable against treatment. Do not count a redeemed deposit twice.

THE PERFECT SMILE / HERTFORDSHIRE

A published starting fee

From £500 per composite veneer

The provider’s composite section gives this per-tooth starting price. Its broader £500–£1,200 opening range mixes composite and porcelain, so it is not a composite-only range.

A starting fee does not specify the final assessment, appointment or aftercare bill. Ask for the complete scope.

VAT caveat: neither cited price passage explicitly identifies its VAT basis. No exemption is assumed and no VAT has been added here. Ask for the tax treatment and final payable amount in writing. Promotions can change.

SCOPE BEFORE COMPARISON

What does “composite” cover on this quote?

Bupa describes composite veneers as resin applied to the tooth’s surface. Advertisements may use bonding and veneer language differently. Ask whether the quoted work is limited to an edge or covers the front surface; do not infer equivalent work from matching names.

For financial comparison, request whether the description is direct or indirect, whether laboratory work is involved, and which visits are charged separately. A branded material label alone does not establish what your fee includes.

Keep clinical questions separate: preparation, risks, reversibility and personal options require a dentist’s explanation. This website cannot resolve them or interpret a photograph.

LOCAL WORKSHEET / NO CONTACT DETAILS NEEDED

Separate teeth, visits and extras.

Use numbers from your own quote. Enter zero explicitly where a visit charge or extra is absent. The calculation is tooth count × per-tooth price + charged visits × visit fee + extras. It never selects treatment, predicts future care or adds tax. Inputs remain in this page’s memory.

No total calculated.

Included visits must not be added again. A package quote may not equal its tooth count multiplied by a separate unit price.

Build an inclusions record

Tick only items confirmed by the provider. Unticked means unconfirmed, not excluded. The list is not a quality score.

0 of 6 confirmed.

Download contains figures and checklist states only, never enquiry details. Nothing is sent to a practice.

READ THE LABELS LITERALLY

Make room for the unknowns.

Arch ≠ package

An arch is the upper or lower row, not a standard number of veneers. Ask for the exact teeth and total before comparing “full smile” offers. A package discount cannot establish how many teeth you should have treated.

Later costs ≠ forecast

Ask for current review, repair assessment and replacement charging policies. Record any guarantee exclusions and compulsory paid visits. We do not assign a lifespan, replacement schedule or lifetime saving to a material.

Monthly ≠ total

A payment amount omits the borrowing context. Request the cash fee, deposit, repayment count, interest, charges and total payable separately. This site neither introduces finance providers nor gives borrowing advice.

INDEPENDENT CHECKS

A useful conversation starts with clear roles.

Check a professional’s registration using the General Dental Council register. It confirms registration, not a recommended price, guaranteed result or endorsement of this website.

The NHS says veneers are generally private unless there is a clinical need. Ask the dentist which proposed items are NHS or private; this page cannot establish entitlement.

Request written answers and time to consider them. Questions about clinical alternatives, including not proceeding, belong with an appropriately registered professional. Keep health information out of our enquiry form.

A PRACTICAL PAPER TRAIL

Keep the price conversation organised.

A comparison becomes more useful when you can distinguish an advertisement from an estimate and an estimate from a payment request. Save the provider’s original wording and date. Our checklist is a companion to that paperwork, not evidence that a clinic has agreed to supply anything.

Before an assessment

Label public prices as indications only. Ask whether an introductory meeting has a fee, who conducts it and what it covers. A conversation with a coordinator is not automatically a dentist’s clinical assessment. Confirm any payment and cancellation conditions before reserving a time directly with a practice.

When a quote arrives

Keep the dated original and note its validity period. Ask which figures are fixed, which depend on an assessment and what could change the scope. If an appointment or laboratory item is unclear, mark it unconfirmed rather than treating a blank space as a zero. Request a revised total after any agreed change.

Before a payment

Reconcile amounts already paid with the remaining balance. A credited deposit changes the payment timing, not necessarily the overall cost. Request written refund and rescheduling conditions, and keep the contact for billing questions. Avoid combining figures from different versions of a proposal into a total that the provider has never supplied.

There is no requirement to complete our enquiry form to read these notes, use the arithmetic or download the checklist. The worksheet does not retain a saved account or send your figures with an information enquiry. Keep the provider’s own documents separately.
